For over three decades, I have lived and worked in the "Red Zone"—the places where medical diagnoses, cumulative and deep-seated trauma, and the exhaustion of being human collide.
From the front lines of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Cape Town to the quiet intensity of oncology wards, I have learned that healing doesn't happen by "fixing" a person, but by stabilizing their vessel and reclaiming their story.
My work is built on the bridge between three distinct disciplines:
Clinical Rigor: Respecting the biological reality of trauma and the science of the nervous system.
Contemplative Wisdom: Respecting the soul, the spirit, and the need for deep, non-conceptual rest.
Social Critique: Understanding how the pressure of the modern world breaks the human spirit.
In the early 1990s, I worked on the frontlines of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Cape Town. At a time when there was no cure, I sat with young men and families facing the end of their lives.
It was there that I learned a foundational truth that guides my practice today:
Healing is possible even when a cure is not.
I am a Clinical Social Worker by training. I understand the "Internal Boss" and the biological alarms that keep you awake at 3 AM. But I am also a practitioner of Spiritual Healing and Energy Medicine.
Heart Centred Therapy is the synthesis of these worlds. It is grounded enough for a hospital, but deep enough for the soul. I won't look away from your darkness, because I know the way back out.
