Transitioning into therapy can feel overwhelming. Here are the practical details to help you decide if this is the right space for you.
My practice is entirely virtual, conducted via secure video call. This allows you to stay in the safety and comfort of your own space—your "own vessel"—while we work.
What you need: A private room where you won’t be interrupted and a stable internet connection.
Privacy: I use encrypted platforms to ensure our conversations remain confidential and secure.
What are my Rights in this Space?
Based on the Charter of Story-Telling Rights, our work is guided by these principles:
You have the right to define your experience in your own words.
You are not the problem; the problem is the problem.
You are not a passive recipient of difficulties; your skills of survival will be respected and honoured.
You have the right to have your life understood in the context of what you have been through.
Sessions are approximately 50 minutes long. The fee is R600 per session.
I run a cash practice. To secure your time in my calendar, I ask that payment be made when you schedule your session. This allows us to focus entirely on our work together during our time, rather than on administration.
I am a Licensed Therapist (SACSSP) with a BHF practice number, and I am recognized by most major South African medical aids.
The Process: You pay for the session upfront. I will provide you with a professional invoice/statement.
Reimbursement: You can submit this statement to your medical aid. Whether they reimburse you—and at what rate—depends entirely on your specific provider and your level of cover. I recommend checking with them beforehand.
I maintain a 24-hour cancellation policy.
Your session time is held exclusively for you. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee.
We begin with Stabilization. We won’t dive into your deepest trauma in the first hour. Instead, we assess the "state of your vessel." We look at current situation, your biology, your sleep, and your current level of alarm. Our first goal is to make sure you feel safe.
Do you provide legal testimony, evaluations, reports, or diagnoses?
No. Heart Centred Therapy is a clinical and contemplative space focused on life-transition and biological stabilization. We do not engage in forensic work, legal disputes, or labelling. This boundary allows us to prioritize your long-term wellness and "Authorship" without the distraction of external legal or corporate requirements.
If you are exhausted by clinical labels, navigating a medical crisis, or feeling "soul-weary" despite traditional therapy, this space is for you. However, as a virtual practice, I am not able to offer a crisis service.
If you are in immediate physical danger or experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please contact your local emergency services or a 24-hour crisis line immediately.
