Facing a serious illness is a profound journey, for both the person who is ill and for those who love and care for them. It is a path that tests your strength, heart, and spirit in ways few other experiences can.
You do not have to walk it alone.
I offer dedicated virtual support to provide a quiet, constant, and compassionate presence to help you navigate the complex emotions and questions that arise during this time.
This is a non-medical support service. It is designed to work alongside, and in harmony with, the essential care provided by your doctors, specialists, and medical palliative team. My role is to tend to the heart, the mind, and the spirit—to support the whole person during this part of life's journey.
This support is, above all, a quiet and confidential space where there is nothing to fix and nowhere to rush. It is a place to breathe.
Here, you have the freedom to speak what is true for you without reservation or judgment. This is a sanctuary for all feelings—fear, hope, anger, grief, and even moments of unexpected peace. It is a space to be heard completely, whether you are the person navigating the illness, a family member, or a caregiver.
In the midst of great difficulty, the search for meaning becomes essential. Our conversations can be a space to explore what matters most to you now. This may involve life review, legacy work, strengthening connections, or simply finding moments of comfort and joy. We will gently follow what feels most important to your spirit.
Where it feels helpful, I can offer simple, optional tools to help soothe anxiety and manage emotional distress. These are gentle invitations to use breathwork, relaxation, or imagery to foster a sense of inner calm and comfort. There is no pressure, only possibility.
This support is a sanctuary for anyone touched by the journey of serious illness.
For the Individual Navigating Illness: A confidential space to process, to explore what truly matters, and to enhance your sense of dignity and well-being.
For the Family and Loved Ones: A holding space to navigate your own emotional waves of stress and anticipatory grief, so you can offer meaningful support without becoming depleted.
For the Caregiver: Vital support to manage the significant, and often unseen, demands of caregiving, helping to prevent burnout and honour your own well-being.
Our sessions are held online via a secure video platform, making this support accessible across South Africa. This allows you to receive care from the privacy and comfort of your own home, eliminating the burden of travel and accommodating varying energy levels and schedules.
Facing this journey does not have to be a solitary experience. If you feel that you, your family, or someone you care for could benefit from a steadfast and compassionate presence, I invite you to reach out.
The first step is a confidential consultation where we can gently discuss your situation and explore how this support might best serve you. There is no pressure, only a quiet conversation to see if this feels right for you.
IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you are in immediate distress or crisis, please reach out to The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) on 0800 567 567 or Lifeline Southern Africa on 0861 322 322, or contact your local emergency services.
For more information on formal palliative care services in South Africa, you may wish to contact the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa (HPCA) or other local hospice organizations in your area.
Please remember that care is available. You are not alone on this path.
